Yesterday, I got new running shoes. I’ve had my current pair for about a year, and they were starting to wear down. I have no idea how many miles are on them, but I’m willing to bet it’s more than the recommended amount! I decided to go with Saucony’s ProGrid Ride 4 because I have the Ride 2 and really like them. I have high arches, and I’ve found these shoes give me great support.
Here’s a side by side photo of my old and new shoes.
Other than the fact that the new ones are clean (and blue) – the only difference I’ve noticed is that the new ones seem a little ‘large.’ I don’t mean that they’re too big for me, because they’re not, they just seem to have a slightly huskier profile. I wore them for the first time (indoors, on a treadmill) on Wednesday for a short run of 3 miles. For some reason, my right foot felt funny while the left was fine, but I’m hoping this is just part of the breaking in process. Anyway, I’m excited about my new kicks. Hopefully they’ll have all of these qualities. Are you a runner? How often do you replace your shoes?
