This is Walter.
About five years ago, we decided to get a second dog as a companion to the reigning queen of our house, Abbey. We found Walter (not his original name) on Craigslist. His owners (a family of 4) wanted to go on vacation, and didn’t want the hassle or added cost of figuring out who would take care of him. So they decided to just get rid of him (seriously). He had been kept in a crate most of his life, had zero socialization skills, and was intact. He was around 2 years old at the time.
Bringing Walter into our home was an incredibly stressful experience. In fact, I didn’t think it was going to work. Abbey wanted nothing to do with him. He tried to dominate (i.e. hump) her constantly, and he trotted around our apartment lifting his leg along the way. He was really anxious and wouldn’t stop shaking. I was ready to throw in the towel, but Mister P convinced me to give him a week and see how he settled in.
Keeping Walter (and having him neutered ASAP), was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. He is a huge part of our family. He and Abbey are now the best of friends. He loves to snuggle. And he’s a damn fine watch dog!
Walter is a mama’s boy. He’s a brindle Boston Terrier with crazy wall-eyes.
Walters favorite things include: Pillows,
Laying in the sunny spot,
Eating cat poop (sorry, Walt!),
Snuggling with his sister Abbey,
Sleeping in his snuggle sack,
But the thing that Walter likes best of all…is to have the base of his tail scratched!
He’s a fine dog, and my best friend.
